Many people think Orthodontists treat only children… yet every day, more adults are discovering the advantages of orthodontic treatment. Eventually our jaw joints, teeth, and periodontium (or gums) are going to break down. Orthodontic treatment puts the teeth and jaws in the ideal position to postpone your breakdown point.
Contemporary braces are more comfortable, far less noticeable, and require fewer appointments. The new Invisalign system offers some patients treatment without braces, using clear aligners instead. Beautiful, straight teeth are for everyone… and straight teeth can improve your overall dental health, your appearance, and your self-confidence. Orthodontic treatment can help adults of any age achieve a healthier, more beautiful smile. New patients are always welcome. Initial evaluations are complimentary, referrals are not required, and early evening appointments are available.
Ceramic brackets are made of composite materials. They are very strong and generally do not stain. People like to choose ceramic brackets because they “blend in” with the teeth and are less noticeable than metal. These are the type of braces actor Tom Cruise had. The ligatures (tiny rubber bands) that hold the arch wire on to the ceramic brackets are often white or clear.
Invisalign is great for people who do not have severe dental problems. The “braces” consist of strong plastic trays that are fabricated especially for you. They are indeed invisible. If your bite is not severely off and your teeth are not severely crooked, then Invisalign would be a good choice. You would be able to get your teeth straightened without anyone seeing that you are wearing “braces”!
This appeals too many adults, especially people who wore traditional braces as children and then need more treatment later in life. Now we offer Invisalign teen which is an excellent alternative for the teen who doesn’t want the tin grin.
